40 Things I have learned in 40 Years

40 Things I have learned in 40 Years

I have lived 40 amazing years on this earth and during that time, I have learned many things, the good, the bad and everything in between. Here are a few things I have learned in 40 years.

  1. My belief in God is truly the rock on which I stand.

  2. Love can be found in the strangest oddest places and people.

  3. I am oddly very concerned about the wellbeing of my husband.

  4. Gratitude can literally bring peace to your daily life.

  5. My relationship with my mom in more important than the church that tried to tear that relationship apart

  6. After your children reach a certain age, your husband needs you more than your children do.

  7. “Closure” is OVERRATED!!!, Forgive yourself, forgive the next person and move FORWARD….

  8. Honesty is sometimes concealed by a “seeming” wealth of knowledge and deception.

  9. Change is good, scary but good.

  10. Showing appreciation to the people around you is more beneficial to you than it is to them.

11. Mental and emotional intelligence is in continuous development as you get older you truly get wiser.

12. Leave negative people ALONE!!!

13. Teach as you learn…

14. There is pain growth, learn from your experiences.

15. There is something to learn from EVERYONE you meet.

16. The world is not as cruel as it seems.

17. Two sides of the same story can be different as well as factual based on our lense.

18. Friendships can be broken by political and racial beliefs, and that’s just okay!

19. Your children can teach you life lessons by speaking their own beliefs, rational and life’s understanding.

20. Your belief in yourself is bigger than other people's belief in you.

21. It is necessary to unplug from the world and plug into God.

22. If your spouse says “put your phone done” there is no need for an argument, it just means that he/she needs your undivided attention.

23. You can definitely make genuine lifelong internet friends.

24. Joy truly lies within God.

25. Happiness is truly a state of mind.

26. Self-development is vital…

27. You can truly achieve anything you put your mind to. However, be prepared for the tears and hard lessons that come with achieving your goals.

28. Teens are RESILIENT!!!

29. Generation Z is smarter and wiser than we give them credit for.

30. Life has hills and valleys and there is beauty in both of them.

31. Sometimes when doing the right thing, it means standing alone. This may be hard but it’s doable.

32. Working on a team is definitely more fruitful than working alone.

33. Anyone can be nice but few will be genuine.

34. Routines and systems are a life hack for a smoother running household. If you fall off track, it's ok to take a moment before you go back to basics and get back on track.

35. Comparison is truly the thief of happiness.

36. Marriage is challenging but absolutely beautiful.

37. Haircare and skincare is truly near and dear to my heart.

38. Your “Core” values and beliefs will hold you up during the hardest times in your life.

39. Love and accept people for who they are and not who you want them to be.

40. “Failure” is an option, don’t fear failure, fear having never tried.

I could go on and on…..

It is truly a blessing to live to see 40 years and I give God thanks for every moment, every year, every month and every day.

Happy Birthday to me!
